Tommy and Jeff, two young Americans on holiday in Scotland, one day suddenly find themselves in a quaint old village called Brigadoon. They are taken to meet the Dominie, Mr Murdoch. who explains that 200 years ago, the minister, Mr Forsyth, brought about a miracle whereby the village only comes to life for one day in every hundred years. hence keeping the village from being influenced by the outside world. Mr Murdoch goes on to explain that strangers may visit the village, but no-one who lives there can ever leave, or the magic spell will be broken and the village will disappear forever. During his visit, Tommy falls hopelessly in love with Fiona, and is heartbroken that he must leave her behind. He remembers, though. that Mr Murdoch had told him that "if you love someone deeply, anything is possible, even miracles!" Such a miracle is Tommy's only chance of seeing his true love once more.
